Vision & Mission

Our vision is of a church of loving, caring people who are excited about gathering Sunday morning to share the blessings God gave them while helping others this past week.

"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35

Our mission is to be a healing agency in our community, to help repair the brokenness in so many lives. We can accomplish this mission only by letting people see the love of God in all our actions and sharing God’s good will with all the people we meet. We try to show people there is hope, that weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. (Ps. 30:5)

Our mission is also foreign missions. During the 1990’s CGC sacrificed their building fund to build three churches in Kenya. It seemed that the churches in Kenya were more important than the church in Scottsville. Because of that decision, we are meeting in the Masonic Temple but we do not have a moment’s regret for the actions taken at that time. We believe in tithing the church income to missions plus additional giving. We even tithe the new building fund to missions.

We desire to glorify the Lord through our actions and our deeds, and to worship Him in all we do.
